Category:
Enthusiasts & Hobbies

About this cruise
Travel exposes you to new places, new experiences and sometimes—new hobbies. If you’ve ever been interested in art, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. A special guest artist, Leora Raikin, will serve as your very own art instructor and history teacher for the August 13 sailing of Venice & the Jewels of Veneto.
"HISTORY THROUGH THE LENS OF AN ARTIST"
This two-part series includes an art lecture on the life and works of David Labkovski, a Lithuanian Jewish painter whose works vividly bring history to life. You will also have the opportunity to join a small group art workshop with Leora onboard.
We’re happy to provide these classes and all art materials at no additional cost—all you have to do is sign up onboard. Class space is limited, so make sure to ask at the front desk when you arrive.
Leora Raikin is an international speaker who captivates audiences throughout the world. As an educator, artist, author, and the founder of the David Labkovski Project, Leora teaches audiences to critically read art within a historical time frame. She is committed to using a body of over 400 pieces of artwork to share lessons of life, survival, and resilience to educate others about the importance of bearing witness to history.
She lectures on many topics, including “The Life and Art of David Labkovski: Documenting History through Art,” “The Art of Curation,” and “Fusing Literature and Art” to educate individuals about the Holocaust.
